Industrial Gears: An Insight

Image
Industrial gears are machines that cause torque/motion in mechanical systems attached to them. These are generally tooth-shaped rotating machines that form a couple with one or more tooth-shaped parts of a mechanical system. Such an arrangement that provides motion to the whole system is termed as a "Gear". The main objectives are to convert mechanical energy into some form of motion and to change the speed and direction of that motion. When many gears work simultaneously in sync, it is termed as transmission. A transmission generally contains gears which are different in size. If two different gears of different sizes are in transmission, then the smaller gear will move more swiftly than the bigger one. Although, the torque generated by the bigger one is more than that of the smaller ones. Transmission is very much similar to a cross belted pulley motion with two wheels. Though in the case of gears we have an advantage - gears do not slip due to their tooth-shaped structure...
